Better Stockpile Plenty Of Water

America just gets greater again, doesn’t it? Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke announced Wednesday afternoon that he would be taking a position in the Department of Homeland Security, allegedly at the invitation of President Trump. In case you wonder who this guy is, this is the sheriff in whose jail an inmate died of thirst. You heard me right. The officers in the jail were ordered to shut off the water in a cell where they had socked away a human being. No water. For days, this poor man cried out and begged for water and, evidently, none of these fine public servants were in possession of a conscience.

Now, they said this inmate had kept on overflowing the toilet in his cell. So, this was a “punishment”. Okay, two things: First, the man was mentally ill. Second, I think putting a man to death by dehydration as a “punishment” is morally wrong no matter what this man had done. However, in the annals of cruelty, cutting off water to a mentally ill human being is something we’d expect to read about in historical accounts of Nazi concentration camps. I suppose these men were just “following orders”, too, when they sat by and listened to a human being crying out for water and refused to give him any.

So, they’re putting the honcho of that neo-gulag in Homeland Security?! I suppose if some city acts contrary to his orders, his retaliatory response will be to order the water cut off to that city. Gosh, I feel safer already! I would imagine thinking Americans better add lots more water to the list of emergency stockpile items. Who knows if this guy might pull a Master Blaster and say “Embargo on!” in regards to the water supply of a city that incurs his severe displeasure? Hey, if his jail will do it to a mentally ill man, what prevents the order from being carried out against a city accused of harboring “terrorists” or any other persons-of-interest blah blah blah?

I doubt that would happen, but the bigger thing we need to see is this: Where is the MORAL COMPASS here???!!! May God help us when instead of jailing people who put a human being to death by thirst, we promote one to a top position in what is a secret police agency in the making.
