In Like Flynn, Out Like Flynn

February 15, 2017

Well, well, well…President Trump has offered retired Vice Adm. Bob Harward the position of national security adviser, after retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn resigned, breaking a U.S. government record for quickest resignation from a new presidential administration.  Perhaps he’ll be able to outrun an indictment. We’ll see. But isn’t this fascinating?: Harward is chief executive in the United Arab Emirates for defense contractor Lockheed Martin. Gosh, I wonder who’ll get a big defense contract from the Pentagon if Harward gets in? Hmmm…could it be…Lockheed Martin? I bet the Pentagon is already writing new purchase orders for more F-35s.

Meanwhile, betting pools are active over who will be next to resign from the Trump Administration. I’m predicting Kellyanne Conway or the new SecDef will be next to clean out their desks. We’ll be able to coin a new phrase. Instead of “in like Flynn” they’ll be saying “out like Flynn”.  I can hear the paper shredders whirring already. I bet everyone up there has their lawyer on speed dial before their own spouse on the list.
