A prominent left-libertarian, whom I don’t want to give any publicity, is criticizing Florida governor Ron DeSantis for prohibiting cruise lines from requiring proof of vaccination for people to cruise out of Florida. She is upset that a state government is interfering in what safety rules businesses can set. Yet, she hardly criticizes the federal government via the CDC for requiring the cruise lines to have 95 percent of passengers vaccinated for cruise ships to sail. Of course, neither government entity should dictate anything. But since the CDC is issuing regulations to cruise lines and passengers and DeSantis is issuing regulations to cruise lines but allowing freedom for passengers, I will have to go with DeSantis over the CDC.
