The U.S. government—that great paragon of virtue—is blacklisting the Pakistan-based Haqqani network as a terrorist organization. Also, the U.S. Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on eight top members of the Pakistan-based militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Why is the USG designating any group with any label? Why is the USG imposing sanctions on any group for any reason? Why is the USG sticking its nose in everyone’s business around the world? These are the real questions that need to be asked.
