If McCain wins South Carolina tonight, Thompson is out of the race and Rudy is all but finished as McCain’s win will make a Rudy win in Florida impossible.
What’s not immediately apparent here is that a McCain victory moves Ron Paul from “sixth” to fourth in the race for the nomination.
Here’s how I would rank them (only if the double talk express wins tonight):
McCain
Huckabee
Romney
Paul
Considering that about 15 men sought the nomination, it’s not bad to be in 4th this early in the game, particularly since the MSM has said 25,000 times that you can’t win.
