“I thought I’d have to hurt somebody, do bodily harm.”

To get a life sentence in jail. So said Jesse Webster, who was sentenced to life in prison in 1996 for “participating in a drug conspiracy and filing false tax returns.” As I have said many times, the war on drugs is much worse than drugs themselves. He is trying to get President Obama to release him. I hope Obama does it by the end of the year. But of course, we know that it won’t be because the president or the majority of Democrats in Congress think that the war on drugs should be ended and all drugs legalized. As I have maintained over and over and over again, Democrats and Republicans are simply two rotten peas in the same pod.
