‘How To Reshape Market Society and Redefine Democracy’ … and Kill Millions

This really made my blood boil when I heard the author of The Value of Nothing (subtitle in quotes above) interviewed on The Splendid Table this afternoon. It could have something to do with having just attended a book club gathering where we discussed The Black Book of Communism. Thus, the absolutely unforgivable effects of planned agriculture, as occurred in the USSR under Lenin and Stalin, were fresh on my mind.
There is no doubt that this author is either “stupid or evil.” Either he wants to kill millions (or billions) with his proposals of how “we can rebalance society and limit markets” and how “we might share our world and its resources in common,” or he is thoroughly ignorant of the economic history of famine.
