‘How LRC Has Changed Me’

Writes Jim Holliman:

As I was watching all the RP videos this morning on LRC I realized how I and my family have changed. We no longer vote for the lesser of two evils. That is a big change for me as the head of a decent size Alabama family that has always voted republican. I am 70 and joined the Young Republicans when I was 17. I went to 5 GOP National conventions. I was a delegate/alternate at three conventions and a staff employee at two conventions when I was in college. I was elected to GOP State Executive Committee while in college and was the youngest member of that group when elected. I served for 16 years. I could go on and on about all the campaign positions I have held but I have made my point. I began reading Ron Paul’s newsletter over 20 years ago. I knew he was right but what could be done? At some point LRC came into my life and that is when I realized Ron Paul was not alone. I decided no more would I vote for anyone unless they understood the message of liberty and freedom as set out by LRC and Ron Paul. I have ordered books from Mises to give to others. Since my real estate law practice has been destroyed by the Fed and the present and past administrations, it has been difficult to provide financial support for Dr. Paul. If I can do it, anyone can. I totaled the amount I had given since 2007–2010 and it amounted to almost $3,000. Rand got $500 of that. Our message of freedom is winning especially with the young people. Extra cash for politics was out of the question, but I wanted to do more to help. I contacted Dr. Paul’s finance manager in Virginia and asked if they would accept a one ounce gold coin. I purchased the coin 10 years ago and If I sold it, taxes would be due on the profit. He got back in touch with me and I sent the coin. He told me no one had done this before and they might take my suggestion for a money bomb that was for real money. I received a notice that I gave a contribution of $1,789.  Wasn’t that the year our country adopted the Bill Of Rights? I have given modest amounts to LRC and have ordered much through your site from Amazon, and will continue to do what I can. The economy is not getting better, and it appears to me that things will not get better during my lifetime. So sad for my children and grandchildren.
