“Helping” American Consumers by Forcing HIGHER Prices

July 18, 2024

Trump (and J.D. Vance) and Brandon are on record as favoring protectionist tariffs, especially with regard to China.  Brandon signed a law that will impose 25-100% tariffs on steel, aluminum, semiconductors, electric vehicles (100%), batteries, solar cells, and medical products.

This will allow domestic sellers of those products to raise their prices so that everything made of steel and aluminum will be more expensive, as will computers, electric vehicles, solar power, and worst of all, medical supplies.  Get ready to start giving mom and dad, grandma and grandpa, help with their medical expenses.  This is called “populism” because it is supposedly helpful to “the people.”  In reality of course it is helpful to the greedy, rent-seeking scoundrels who bribe politicians to screw the public with tariff taxes in order to further line their own pockets. And that includes labor unions.

If tariffs are so good for “the people,” why so stingy?  Why not 1000% tariffs on ALL imports, Don and Brandon?
