Help Me With My Geography: Is Chicago in The US or The USSR?

Chicago’s first openly gay mayor, Lori Lightfoot, mounted a raid on a black South Side church for holding services in defiance of her coronavirus lockdown orders.

Lightfoot reportedly sent three marked squad cars and two unmarked cars full of officers to the Chicago Cornerstone Baptist Church…

The pastor of the mostly black congregation, Courtney Lewis, reportedly shut and locked the doors and refused to allow the officers to gain entry to the building … Pastor Lewis [said] that he felt like he was confronting “the Soviet-style KGB” as the officers pounded on his doors and demanded entry to shut the church down.

“Thankfully, our doors were locked as a normal safety precaution we take each service to protect our members from the escalating gun violence in Chicago,” Lewis said.

Love how this preacher not only defends freedom, himself and his congregation but shames the immoral (in oh, so many ways) mayor: when she tries to alienate Chicagoans from their inalienable rights, he compares her tactics to the KGB (alas, she probably took that as a compliment). Then he implies she can’t even keep the peace, something most folks assume is government’s primary job. Way to go, Pastor Lewis! (And thanks to Bill Martin for sending this story.)

Meanwhile, Christians in Chicago may want to heed Mike’s suggestion:

What if we say that people who love the Lord are infected with ChristamareVirus AND we rename Churches … “Nursing Homes”?

Then do you suppose that these out-of-control Governors who are keeping the churches closed might actually order the sufferers of ChristamareVirus to immediately go to Church?

May this C-Virus infect everyone!
