Hastert’s Real Crime
April 28, 2016
Dennis Hastert is going to prison, but not for his real crime: being a Republican speaker of the House during the Bush presidency when the Republicans doubled the national debt and launched two senseless wars.
N.B.: I am not for a minute downplaying the sexual abuse that Hastert is accused of committing, but that is not why he is going to prison. Because the statute of limitations has expired, he cannot be charged with molesting anyone. I see that one of his victims is now suing him for $1.8 million.
