Green New Deal Co-Sponsors

H.Res.109 — 116th Congress (2019-2020) is the Green New Deal, the product of extreme man-made climate change fanatics who expect catastrophe in short order and who want to assert their control over practically every major economic decision that Americans make. They would gladly interfere in every major market process and thereby create havoc, just as the original New Deal did, but to a far higher degree.

The Green New Deal is the product of vast ignorance, but at the same time and of even greater significance, it is the product of a socialist ambition to take over the country and make it over into a green paradise. The result of the ignorance, however, will be a green hell. Passage of this proposal will cause a civil war. It’s that bad.

In the face of a proposal that’s the work of ambitious power-hungry people who at the same time are out of their minds, it is informative to look at the co-sponsors of the Green New Deal. There are 67 at this time. They, in effect, are declaring their incompetence, lack of judgment, thirst for power and unfitness for the offices they hold. (This list does not yet include several people who have publicly declared their support.)

Several Democratic candidates for the presidency enthusiastically signed on as co-sponsors. This rash act should disqualify them even in the eyes of many Democrats, and certainly in the eyes of everyone else.

“I’m proud to co-sponsor @AOC and @EdMarkey’s Green New Deal. We must aggressively tackle climate change which poses an existential threat to our nation.” — Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) February 7, 2019.

“If we want to live in a world with clean air and water, we have to take real action to combat climate change now. I’m proud to join @RepAOC and @SenMarkey on a #GreenNewDeal resolution to fight for our planet and our kids’ futures.” — Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) February 7, 2019.

“I’m proud to join @SenMarkey, @RepAOC and colleagues across Congress on an historic #GreenNewDeal resolution.” – Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (@gillibrandny) February 7, 2019.

Cory Booker and Bernie Sanders, two more presidential hopefuls, have declared support.

Joe Biden has not, at least so far, declared support; and his price has risen on Predictit. Nancy Pelosi has already pooh-poohed the proposal, but she shares the idea that climate change is an existential threat. (The language of America’s war-makers, warmongers and war-justifiers has infiltrated the political arena.)

Most Congressional names are unfamiliar to most of us. Several co-sponsors of the Green New Deal that may stand out are Jerrold Nadler, Adam B. Schiff, Peter A. DeFazio, Maxine Waters, and Joseph P. Kennedy III.
