Gotta Get Up Early to Fool Southerners

Bill had been out of state. He writes,

Upon returning home [to Georgia], I noticed that there were about half and half folks wearing masks and folks not wearing them. …

I stopped by the bank, where you still cannot go inside, but you can use the drive through.  As I pulled in I saw a couple of the employees with an older couple in the parking lot.  They were all standing around talking, so I pulled up to say, “hey.”  The girls at the bank saw me and said, “where have you been?”  I told them …  We got into a conversation and all of them said they thought this was a “power grab” or a “controlled demolition of our economy.”  I just smiled and nodded.
