GOP Warmongers

The Republican-controlled House voted down two resolutions that would have forced President Trump to get congressional approval before launching strikes against Venezuela and drug smuggling boats. The votes were 213–211 and 216–210. Only Representatives Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Don Bacon of Nebraska voted in favor of both resolutions. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene only voted for one of the resolutions. I have no praise for Democrats who voted for the resolutions since they only did so because Trump is the president. If Obama or Biden were still in office, they would have voted down the resolutions. There are less than a handful of principled Republicans in the House. Yet, in the election next year, conservative Christians will scream that we must vote for Republicans to keep those evil Democrats out of office. But what’s the difference?
