Get Ready for Higher Airline Tickets
July 27, 2023
The Department of Transportation has announced a rule requiring new single-aisle aircraft to have fully accessible lavatories. The DOT cited statistics showing inaccessible lavatories were a reason behind why many disabled passengers don’t fly “unless absolutely necessary.” You don’t say. It is a human rights issue, says the DOT.
If airlines want to make their lavatories accessible to wheelchairs, then that is their business, but the government has no business telling the airlines to do it. Likewise, the government should have no authority over ticket pricing, smoking on airplanes, or airport security.
