COVID19 is the gift that keeps on giving to Marxists.
Those in New York City have finally realized their biggest dream: “free” food for all. Headlines on kiosks around town advise that “all” New Yorkers qualify for these hand-outs with directions on finding “meal hubs.” And one of nyc.gov’s websites assures serfs, “New York City is taking steps to make sure every New Yorker has access to the food they [sic] need” with links to options for snatching your fair share. Then there’s this from Brainwashing Central–sorry, the public schools:
The New York City Department of Education is committed to making free meals available daily for any New Yorker. Any New Yorker—
Not merely students—which, at 1,126,501, form a sizable hunk by themselves.
—who wants one can get free meals at more than 400 Meal Hubs across the city.
- Meals can be picked up at all Meal Hubs 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, Monday through Friday
- Meals Hubs will operate for children and families from 7:30 am to 11:30 am, and for adults from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm
- No one will be turned away at any time
- All adults and children can pick up multiple meals at one time
- Vegetarian and halal options available at all sites
- No dining space is available, so meals must be eaten off premises
- Parents and guardians may pick up meals for their children
- No registration or ID required
At last! The political class dispensing food to everyone, not just the indigent or prisoners (whether in jail or public schools)! How soon will this go from voluntary to mandatory? And how long before exceptions footnote the promise “No one will be turned away at any time”?—
No mask, no food for you.
“Ah, Robert Hesseldorf: you wrote the New York Post last week, protesting lockdowns, didn’t you? Next!”
“Whaddaya mean, ya want pizza ‘stead of tofu? Ya a troublemakah? Get outa heah!”
Given the power at stake, politicians and bureaucrats enjoy overwhelming incentive to prolong the plandemic for months, years, even decades. They’ve destroyed restaurants (many New Yorkers regularly dine out, not only daily but sometimes for every meal); now they’re jockeying to control the rest of the City’s sustenance.
Nor are their subjects, most of whom are as Marxist as rulers, likely to object.
