On Fake News

I am having so much fun watching the established order coming unglued. I am particularly delighted to watch some members of the mainstream media moralize about “fake news.” It’s a reminder that the suppliers of any goods or services are uncomfortable having competitors enter their field of endeavor. “Fake news is OUR job; we are well-paid to provide it! How dare these interlopers try to horn in on our well-established professional expertise!”

All of this is a reminder for intelligent minds to keep in the forefront of their thinking the epistemological question we have been conditioned to avoid asking ourselves: how do we know what we know? How do we know whether what we see, hear, or read is true?”
