Equal Results? No Equal Opportunity? No Again.
February 1, 2017
Libertarians don’t favor equal results, as do liberals and progressives. Nor, even, do we promote equal opportunity as do the conservatives and right wingers. (I never had equal opportunity with LeBron James to play basketball. He has springs in his legs; I don’t. I never had equal opportunity with Yo Yo Ma to play the cello; I don’t know what he’s got that enables him to make magic on this musical instrument, but whatever he’s got, I don’t have it). What, then, do libertarians support? Only the NAP, private property rights and free association. We’re such sticks in the mud. We have no brief for equality, whatsoever, except that all people should be equally free of invasion, rights violations.
