Deep Kimchi Ahead
April 19, 2017
Hmmm…so…after all these years, the government waxes nostalgic for the good ol’ days of the 1950s and the Korean War. Hey Don, I suggest cracking open a history book. We didn’t win that war and we had a coalition of nations helping us. We signed a cease-fire, which is why North Korea remains to this day. What makes you think we’ll win the re-match? And everyone knows the sequel is never as good as the original. I suppose, though, we can look forward to a MASH 2 on the TV. Except it’ll be a reality show this time.
I’m sorry, I must have missed the part where North Korea had done something to us that warrants another war. Oh, they’re building nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles, right. Excuse me, but has anyone noticed their ballistic missiles have a rather chronic habit of blowing up on the launch pad or shortly afterwards? North Korea is more at risk of nuking themselves with their own missiles by accident than them successfully dropping one anywhere else but on Pyongyang. It’ll be the first war in history where a nation accidently defeated itself.
Ah, well, whaddya gonna do? Oh, by the way, the USAF has a shortage of pilots and is considering doing stop-loss to retain the ones they’ve got. They’re already minus over 1,000 pilots they’re supposed to have to maintain force readiness. So even an air war will become a problem once they lose a few pilots they can’t replace. Brilliant! Start a war with a deficit of combat pilots! Only the United States government could do something like that. Well, they do deficit spending…
