Congressman Who Sought a Pay Raise Gets an Earful
April 11, 2014
A Democratic congressman from Virginia sought not only a pay raise, but per diem pay as well. Said the congresscreep: “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid. I understand that it’s widely felt that they underperform, but the fact is that this is the board of directors for the largest economic entity in the world.” The congresscreep said “his office received several thousand calls,” “many of them full of expletives, and all in opposition to the proposal.”
Good. This shows that many Americans still have some sense.
