America First …

… was right of course, both then and now. My father, who served as counsel to Colonel McCormick and America First, recounts the real history of the organization in The Conservative American (Victor Publishing Company).
Robert D. Stuart, Jr., who actually founded America First while a college student (!), recounts how he knew the British were funding the opposition and dragging America into the war, but couldn’t prove it (we know a lot more now, with Alger Hiss, Kim Philby, and Guy Burgess all revealed as Soviet agents). Stuart’s autobiography, Making a Difference, is intriguing (his ghostwriter earned every penny) and indispensable.
By the way, Stuart recounts how America First was recognized as “the only important political movement in America founded by a bunch of youngsters.” An inspiration to the youth of today who want not only to keep America First, but to keep America, period.
