260 Years Old—And Ageless!

June 6, 2015

In honor of Nathan Hale’s 260th birthday today, I am offering my novel about him, Halestorm, at half the usual price (regularly $2.99, now $1.50 for the Kindle version. Nathan also plays a role in my second novel, Abducting Arnold, so it’s on sale as well). Don’t ask me why, but prior to Halestorm, this American Revolutionary was generally dismissed as a children’s hero; plenty of books entertained fifth- and sixth-graders with his thrillingly dramatic life and death, but no one had ever penned a novel for adults. Maybe writers figured that idealism, commitment, integrity and honor are virtues only kids admire. If so, call me a child.

It’s been a rough week, what with the TSA’s utter incompetence yet again provoking only the usual demands for reform rather than abolition and the NSA’s further empowerment through the USA Slavery—whoops, I mean Freedom Act. Escape with Halestorm and Abducting Arnold from the dystopian present into a glorious past, where liberty was a “reigning Topic” and men only regretted that they had but one life to give for it.
