The War Against Cars

I am amused at the environmental nitwits who war against SUVs.  Apparently they are unaware that they — with the assistance of Ralph Nader — midwifed the SUVs into existence.  Earlier federal regulations imposed mileage standards on “automobiles,” but exempted “trucks.”  Detroit responded by creating a new kind of “truck” (i.e., the SUV).

The problem these people-pushers have with SUVs – or other car types – has little to do with the makeup of the vehicles themselves, than with what they represent: an independent source of transportation (i.e., freedom) for individuals.  These slugs want nothing so much as to have the entire population dependent upon so-called “public transportation” which, of course, they will control.
