Marine Le Pen: I Know the EU Is Waging a Cold War Against Russia – Here’s Why

The Skripal case presumption of Russian guilt is a microcosm of West-Russia relations

Marine Le Pen, one of the only patriots left in the power wings of Paris, spoke to the French people about how the European Union is waging a new Cold War against Russia. Fort Rus quotes Le Pen:

“I believe that the current events may have far more significant implications,” Le Pen said.

“It’s a strategy of building a wall separating Russia and the European Union. I know from my own experience of work in the European Parliament that the European Union is conducting a real Cold War against Russia,” Le Pen said.

Le Pen isn’t the only French citizen tired of this Cold War against Russia. The French Ambassador spoke explaining to the US that France does not wish to be a part of the US-Russia exterritorial sanctions regime. The US sanctions Russia, and expects France to obey the US sanctions, in betrayal of their own interest.

Clearly, there are still some awake people among the French. Le Pen alluded to the Skripal case when she spoke on “current events”, and indeed, the mess surrounding Skripal is a perfect microcosm of how the West treats Russia.

An ex-spy is poisoned, and immediately, without presenting any concrete evidence, Russia is blamed and condemned. It’s also very convenient for the British government, that a new, revitalized round, of rabid Russophobia, can come in, to sweep away attention from Brexit, and drown the hopes of Brexit voters in a sea of Russia-bashing. Never forget to take advantage of a tragedy – they say. Even better for them if that tragedy or scandal deflects attention from their own problems.

Nigel Farage recently staged a flamboyant protest in favor of Brexit, throwing fish into the Thames river, representing the English fishermen disenfranchised by the EU.

Farage said:

They promiced they would do it [have Brexit] in 2019, they’re now vaugly saying they might do it in 2021. I don’t think any of them frankly have the guts, to stand up for what Brexit voters wanted.

Of course what Mr. Farage is speaking about -corrupt western politics – seems on the surface, unrelated to what Le Pen speaks of – Skripal case and the Cold War against Russia – they are in fact related.

It is the M.O. of the west, Hypocrisy which binds these things together. It is the West’s hypocrisy which constantly lectures about “Free and Fair Elections”, and criticizes the Russian elections, yet shows no respect for the will of the British people in their Brexit vote. The West loves elections when they confirm the result they want, if they don’t like the result, it was all a sham, there must be a new election. This Hypocrisy is why Russia no longer has any trust…moreover – no more respect…for the west – and because the West doesn’t respect Russia.

The West which preaches “Innocent until proven guilty”…unless it’s Russia they accuse, because Russia is always blamed for everything. It was to this effect the amazing Margarita Simonyan explained why Russia no longer respects the west.

…Your “Skripals” and blatent disregard of the most basic liberal values, like a presumption of innocence. You manage to hypocritically combine along with forcible imposition of ultra-liberal ideas in your own countries, mentally insane mass hysteria.

All of this creates in a healthy person, a sigh of relief that he lives in Russia, and not in Hollywood, with their post-electoral mess in the United States, or in Germany. Or in the Brexit-zone [England]; with their attacks on RT, which they cannot forgive for taking advantage of the freedom of speech, and showing to the world how to use it.

It turned out that this “freedom of speech” never was intended to be used for good, but was invented as an object of beauty, a false ideal that you never intended to implement for real.[3]

Your injustice and cruelty, your inquisitorial hypocrisy and your lies, you forced us to stop respecting you. You and your so-called[4] “values.”

We no longer want to live like you. For fifty years, secretly and openly, we wanted to live like you, but not any longer.

We no longer respect you.

Is it hard to understand why? The west wages a new Cold War against Russia – and wonders why Russia does not want to live like them. If Russia can enjoy the rights of the British people or French People – to be client states of the EU, NATO, and the US – she will happily go on her own way.
