Russian Pilots Save Airliner From Collision at Barcelona Airport

Russian UTair airliner almost collided with the plane from Argentina at the international airport of Barcelona. The incident footage recorded at the airport was posted on popular video hosting services. It shows the Argentine plane was taxiing across its path when the Russian airliner UTair already made its final approach and almost touched the ground.

Russian pilots noticed another plane on the runway and decided to interrupt the landing and went to the second round.

Information about the incident at the airport in Barcelona was confirmed by the UTair spokesperson.

“The instructions to the A340 possibly were misunderstood by the captain, or they might not have heard or acknowledged the instructions, or there may have been no instruction issued from the control tower,” Captain John Holmes, flight training manager at Ansett Aviation Training said.
