The “good government” goo-goos like to say that money corrupts government. In the case of the Palestinian Authority, which basically was propped up financially by U.S. tax dollars, we can say with certainty that the U.S. dollars enabled the corruption.

The best thing in the world for Hamas would be for the USA to pull the financial plug. First, it would lesson the chances for the politicos to put their fingers in big tills, and second, Hamas would have to perform, not being bailed out by Uncle Sam. My take is that Hamas will do better in the long run.
