The Cult of Bush

One reason Bush may need to cancel the elections is his surprisingly poor, for an incumbent President running unopposed, primary performance.

Even canceling the elections is unlikely to weaken Bush’s support among conservatives, since the official conservative movement has, as all statists movements eventually do, degenerated into a cult of personality. Thus, conservatives will remain loyal to Bush no mater what he does and continue to lie to themselves that all real Americans worship at the church of W.(Warning, don’t click on this link unless you have a strong stomach.)
