I Am Moving To Chile

Well, not really. But I am being treated like royalty here. I’ve been interviewed by El Mercurio, the newspaper of record here (and, I learned, the oldest newspaper in the Spanish-speaking world) and two financial newspapers, and tomorrow I’ll do an interview for Chilean television. This morning I led a roundtable discussion with a group of Chilean fellow historians. And my lecture tonight drew 300 people.

My trip continues tomorrow night with a lecture at the Grand Hyatt Santiago on the free market and Catholic social teaching, and a roundtable discussion with Chilean economists on Thursday morning.

Chile is an economic success story that the Left is trying to transform into another failed South American economy. Whenever I am inclined to go soft on the Left, I learn about evil like this.
