The late great talk show host Johnny Carson was hip to George Orwell. In 1984 he had an eye representing Big Brother placed on the scenic wall behind his desk on the Tonight Show set. Regis Philbin asked him about it when he interviewed Johnny. It’s at 615 in this video.
