“My wife attended a GOP-sponsored focus group last week in Phoenix and her experience was interesting. It was a women-only session, with about a dozen present, all middle age to retired. When asked “What animal does John McCain remind you of,” answers ranged from “weasel,” “worm,” and “eagle” (presumably from his “sacrifices” in Viet Nam). On the other hand, one lady remarked on how that he had purposely blocked POW search efforts by Congress. The general consensus was that he always represents Washington to Arizona rather than the other way around. (They also expressed that opinion of Jeff Flake.) We wondered if this was sponsored by McCain to see if it’s worth his while to run again.”
