Scott in Colorado tells me that when he couldn’t sleep last night, he listened to my latest podcast. He was too kind to say whether I lulled him back to sleep.
Anyway, he wrote that my chat with Theresa Kuhn sparked these thoughts:
…libertarians need to turn the tables and start saying that this is economic terrorism, medical terrorism. … I want to throw up if I hear one more time out of the talking heads, “Covid-19 has caused ________. ” Baloney! It has caused nothing. GOV’T has caused _______ – now we’re talking.
…they are [also] controlling the vocabulary. Look at all the Newspeak they have introduced, now repeated as if we’ve been speaking like this for 50 years:
“We’re in this together”
“Alone – together”
“New normal”
“Covid-19 has caused _____ “
“Stay home – save lives”
All slogans of the “Party”…
And terribly ham-fisted slogans at that.
