What Are They Smokin’ in Denver?

Colorado Governor Jared Polis has updated a public health order … The order now says Houses of Worship can remain open during the COVID-19 pandemic if they practice extreme social distancing.

As Scott in Colorado, who sent me this story, opines, “Colorado churches have ‘legally’ been allowed to meet since March 26!  (But they don’t!)”

Indeed. They’ve been too busy scraping and bowing at the Altar of Public Health.

By the way, try as I might to find the phrase, “if they practice extreme social distancing,” anywhere at all in the First Amendment, I did not. Hmmm. You don’t suppose ol’ Jared is pulling a fast one on Colorado’s Christians, do you?

Meanwhile, his “Office” seems inordinately confused, even for political dorks:”The order is clear and we ask everyone to follow. It’s important to remind people that this executive order is the law and voluntary compliance is key to success…”

Emphasis smugly added. Love the wiggle room! Pssst, Coloradoans: this bozo knows he hasn’t got an amoeba’s authority. Why give any credence at all to his prattle? And serfs elsewhere can apply that lesson to the wannabe Stalins in their statehouses.
