The Memo Goes Out

This time, the entire establishment speaks with one voice, to canonize the murdered Mrs. Bhutto, since she was the useful puppet of the Bush regime. Forgotten is what sort of politician she was. See this and this, for example. Of course, this hardly distinguishes her from the rest, in Islamabad or Washington, DC. As Steve Vaughn says, this is like the Gambinos hitting the Columbos. (And thanks for the links to DM.)

UPDATE Writes A.C. Bowen: “Even her niece Fatima doesn’t like her. That’s not a bad article, actually, though it obviously has an ulterior motive. It was reprinted in the Columbia newspaper a couple of months ago, since Fatima is a Columbia alum.”

The Memo Goes Out

Funny to see Pravda and Radio Moscow (make that the NY Times and NPR) both refer this morning to Muqtada al-Sadr’s base of support as a “slum,” a word long banned by both when referring to poor urban areas in the US.
