Some Peace Prize

The US government pressured Norway, its tiny satellite, to make sure that no actual advocate of international peace–Pope John Paul II, for example–would be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, since this would have been seen as a rebuke to Bush, generalissimo of the most massive warfare state in the history of the world. Instead, the prize went to an advocate of feminism in Iran, thus advancing the neocon war strategy.
