I almost always have a radio playing when I’m home, tuned to a station that offers classical music. And I was vastly amused this morning at a report on the top-of-the-hour news about yesterday’s shooting of Republicans: it did not mention or even allude to the attacker’s socialism and his support of Comrade Bernie Sanders.
WQXR is a “public, non-commercial” station way to the left of Stalin, like most of Manhattan; the New York Slimes owned it until about eight years ago–and the Slimes still supplies the station’s newscasts. No wonder the report I heard was so reticent about the would-be killer’s communism.
The Ol’ Gray Bat did bring itself to mention James Hodgkinson’s politics in its written edition. But a general search of the internet for stories about ‘”James T. Hodgkinson” 66 [Hodgkinson’s age] “Bernie Sanders“‘ turned up only 73,700 results–a tiny number for a national sensation like this one (contrast that with “korea coma student’s” 945,000 or “trump russia comey’s” 65,400,000 hits). And the sum shrinks further when we subtract “conservative” outlets from it.
Is the corporate media biased? Naaaaawwwww.
