In his speech today, Obama said that the US would “continue to be a friend and partner to Egypt.” That was a threat, since friendship and partnership with the US government means domination. The US installed and ran the last two dictators over Egypt, and therefore endorsed decades of censoring, spying, looting, caging, torturing, and murdering. If the Egyptians know what is good for them, they will turn down even one depreciating cupro-nickel dime from yesterday’s empire.
