No Matter Who Wins …
April 19, 2008
Pretty soon they’ll want to give us all one of these — for our safety, of course.
And if it keeps us safe in the air, why not on the ground and all around?
An old Star Trek Episode had Kirk and Spock traveling in a parallel universe that took a slightly different course than ours. Whenever a Starship crew member made a mistake, Kirk’s weird double would press a button and the man would be writhing on the ground in agony.
And then, of course, there’s Room 101 in Big Brother’s Ministry of Love, where Winston watches the needle rise as the pain increases.
Never expect the tyrant to be original — just cruel.
