Whenever I hear a president or the government tell me they’re going to make me “safe” or make America “safe”, I know there’s some new McPolice McState law coming down the pipe. How quick we forget that who trades essential liberty for temporary safety deserves neither one. First, I don’t need or want the government to “protect” me. We’re protected so much, they probably monitor who breaks wind in public. I’m tired of being “protected”. I don’t sit here whining, wringing my hands, and begging the government to protect me. So, “Make America Safe Again”?! Huh, with what? Another Patriot Act? This is all about FEAR and inculcating it into us. That, friends, is exactly how the government manipulates people. “Be afraid of these people! Be afraid! We’ll protect you, just be afraid enough to go along with whatever we do to make you safe!” Yeah, well, I ain’t buyin’ it. Yeah, right, make America safe again. What, is George W. Bush playing Cardinal Richelieu up there in the White House?
