Responding to “Shouldn’t The Serfs Who Pay The Piper Know His Tune?,” a friend writes,
If, as stated in the Declaration of Independence, the legitimacy of government is based on the consent of the governed, then there can be no secrets, because we cannot consent to what we do not know.
Therefore, if they insist on having secrets, they have no legitimacy.
