Not because I think Murtha is fundamentally a good guy (he is, after all, a congressman and not Ron Paul), but because he speaks for the military. Not the very top layer, which is appointed by Rumsfeld, but for the senior officer corps. The war on Vietnam only ended when the military came to oppose it. It may be the same with the war on Iraq.
