Barnett is Shocked — Shocked! — by Stromberg’s Scholarship
October 4, 2004
The funny thing about the Barnett blog, noted below by Lew, is that he seems absolutely shocked that someone (Joe Stromberg) would criticize his book by invoking — are you ready for this — scholarship! Why, Joe is extremely well read, as can be seen by his grasp of scholarly literature not only from the latest issues of politically correct academic journals and political magazines, but also from treatises that were written decades ago by respected scholars. And he cites more than just Commentary and The National Interest! Where does this guy come from, Alabama? Florida? No wonder he doesn’t sound like a “New York Intellectual.”
Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo [send him mail] is a former professor of economics at Loyola University Maryland and a longtime member of the senior faculty of the Mises Institute. He is the author or co-author of eighteen books including The Real Lincoln; How Capitalism Saved America; Lincoln Unmasked; Hamilton's Curse; Organized Crime: The Unvarnished Truth About Government; The Problem with Socialism; and The Politically-Incorrect Guide to Economics.
