A Great Idea for Congress
January 12, 2015
In doing some research, I noticed that in Nebraska, “sessions of the Legislature last for 90 working days in odd-numbered years and 60 working days in even-numbered years.” What a great idea for the U.S. Congress to follow. The less that congressmen are in Washington D.C., the less damage they can do. We will be better off if congressmen take more and longer vacations. Obama too.
Update: Several readers have told me that the Montana legislature meets even less often.
Laurence M. Vance [send him mail] writes from central Florida. He is the author of The Free Society; War, Christianity, and the State: Essays on the Follies of Christian Militarism; War, Empire, and the Military: Essays on the Follies of War and U.S. Foreign Policy; King James, His Bible, and Its Translators, and many other books. His newest book is The U.S. Proxy War in Ukraine.
