US Regime Attacks Venezuela and Plans to Plunder its Natural Resources

January 4, 2026

The US regime’s unprovoked attack on Venezuela is a violation of international law.  It is a violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty, it is a violation of the UN Charter, and it is a crime of aggression.  At least, 40 people have been murdered in the unprovoked attack.  The US regime wants to plunder Venezuela’s natural resources, install a puppet government, and to murder and torture any Venezuelans who oppose the takeover of their country.

“If there is one thing that the Venezuelan people and this country are very clear about, it is that we will never again be slaves, that we will never again be a colony of any empire, of whatever stripe,” declared Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez.

China’s Foreign Ministry asserted, “Such hegemonic acts of the U.S. seriously violate international law and Venezuela’s sovereignty and threaten peace and security in Latin America and the Caribbean region.”

Brazilian President Lula stated, “Bombings on Venezuelan territory and the capture of its president cross an unacceptable line.”  He also said, “These acts represent a most serious affront to Venezuela’s sovereignty and yet another extremely dangerous precedent for the entire international community.  Lula added, “Attacking countries, in flagrant violation of international law, is the first step toward a world of violence, chaos, and instability, where the law of the strongest prevails over multilateralism.”

The US national-security state claims to defend “a rules-based order” yet consistently acts as an imperialist aggressor against third world countries that strive to maintain independence from Washington and possess natural resources that are coveted by the US national-security state.  The American people must demand the impeachment and conviction of the criminal regime that runs the United States, and the international community needs to defend the principles of international law by exerting pressure on the United States to thwart its takeover of Venezuela.
