“Killer” Cuomo Doesn’t Murder Only Old Folks in Nursing Homes; He’s Also Gunning for the Holiday Spirit
November 17, 2020
Really bad ideas spread among Our Rulers as fast as does corruption. According to one such notion now, we must limit our gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas to some low and arbitrary number of guests.
Naturally, New York State’s Large intestine, Andrew “Killer” Cuomo, has jumped on this bandwagon. He issued another of his infamous diktats (#4,536,765 if anyone’s counting; word is that #4,536,770 will dismiss the Legislature as Killer can handle their job as well as his own): “Gov. Andrew Cuomo … announced a new 10-person cap on parties and other gatherings in private residences, including apartments and houses.”
Alas for Killer, not all his enforcers are onboard. At least four sheriffs have denounced Killer’s overreach with great wit and mockery:
“I have no plans to utilize my office’s resources or deputies to break up the great tradition of Thanksgiving dinner,” Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard said …
“This national holiday has created longstanding family traditions that are at the heart of America, and these traditions should not be stopped or interrupted by Governor (Andrew) Cuomo’s mandates.”
Hear, hear!
Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino wrote in a Facebook post on Saturday, “Frankly, I am not sure it could sustain a Constitutional challenge in Court for several reasons including your house is your castle,
“And as a Sheriff with a law degree I couldn’t in good faith attempt to defend it Court, so I won’t,” Giardino wrote.
“We have limited resources and we have to set priorities, so obtaining a Search Warrant to enter your home to see how many Turkey or Tofu eaters are present is not a priority,” he added.
Wanna bet Killer isn’t laughing nearly as heartily as we?
Washington County Sheriff Jeff Murphy said he will not enforce the rule on Thanksgiving.
Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo expressed the same stance on Monday.
“I can’t see how devoting our resources to counting cars in citizens’ driveways or investigating how much turkey and dressing they’ve purchased is for the public good,” Zurlo said …
Your move, Killer.
