WaPo Neocon Has a Panic Attack

December 16, 2015

Oh no! Not only has Cruz used their self-chosen name–neocon (funny how it became a pejorative), but now he has dared to tread where no man should even tiptoe. He said he wanted an “America-first” foreign policy. This is, of course, politically unanswerable, though she tries in the normal way: Why, why, Charles A. Lindbergh used that phrase to oppose FDR’s drive to war! So did other pro-peace figures. Of course, she’s right that Cruz knows the resonance of the phrase. He also knows that his enemy Rubio is the 110% neocon candidate. Cruz is still a warmonger, but these are small signs of progress. See Justin Raimondo on the debate and foreign policy.
