Best Subhead of the Week!

September 24, 2013

Our award in this category goes to The Register. It entitled an article about the NSA’s trying to find a “privacy officer” (yes, you read that correctly), “The NSA’s hiring — and they want a CIVIL LIBERTIES officer.” The subhead? “In other news, the Spanish Inquisition want [sic] an equal opportunities officer.”

Don’t stop reading after that bon mot, however, as several others lurk in the body of the piece: “Anyone applying for the role would do well to familiarise themselves with the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s handy guide to decoding NSA doublespeak.”

Oh, the hope that such universal contempt for Our Rulers inspires in those of us who love liberty!
