No matter what happens in Syria, this event and the ongoing surveillance scandals are of historic importance. They mark the high water mark of the policy of aggressive and ever-widening military interventions, attacks and wars that we have seen from Clinton, Bush and Obama for the past 15 years.
That era is ending. That policy now faces ever higher public disillusionment and resistance from peoples in many nations. The tide has turned against that aggressive policy.
