A friend shared this article from Gizmodo with me: The End of Privacy. In an appallingly Big Brotherly move, the government of Leon, Mexico has installed iris scanners in several public locations. The scanners, made by a US-based biometrics firm, can recognize dozens of people per minute by scanning their irises, and track those people as they move around the city. “Criminals” will be subject to compulsory registration in their database; for everyone else it’s supposedly voluntary (for now).
