J.K. Rowling, Libertarian
July 16, 2007
Writes Jeff Snyder: “The new and final Harry Potter book comes out this Saturday. In anticipation, you might want to check out this 2006 Michigan Law Review article that reviews JK Rowling’s relentlessly unfavorable portrait of government. The author argues that, given the number of her worldwide readers, ‘Rowling may do more for libertarianism than anyone since John Stuart Mill.’
“A fun read in a scholarly journal.
“PS: You will note that in footnote 69 two of Rothbard’s works are cited as paradigmatically illustrative of libertarian philosophy.”
