Obviously, the world did not come to an end last month on September 23 as some false prophets predicted. It is not even worth the time to discuss who made the predictions and why they made them.

But claiming that the sky will fall or the world will come to an end is nothing new. Many people believe that if a certain thing happens then the world will come to an end. They may not say so outright, but judging from their reaction to certain proposals, that is their reaction.

Liberals and Democrats are the worst, but conservatives and Republicans are sometimes just as bad, depending on the issue.
